I’ve always been an entrepreneur. From raking leaves and mowing yards in downtown Frankfort to starting a recycling business when I was 8. My mom would drive me in our station wagon around the neighborhood and to Saylor’s restaurant to collect bottles and cans. Then we’d go to WARS recycling place in South Frankfort and trade it for cash. When I saved enough money my dad helped me get a loan and I bought a carboard baler that we put in the back of Pic Pac. They got to use the baler for free and I got the cardboard that came out the other end. I tell you this so that you know something about me.

I’m a negotiator and problem solver. It’s in my nature and I will problem-solve for you and your interests. I decided to use my knowledge of the housing industry to become a real estate appraiser. Appraising led me to get my sales license and before I knew it, I was one of the top producers in our area. More importantly, I realized that I really enjoy helping people make good decisions about one of the biggest investments of their lives.

Since then, I have opened my own real estate brokerage, Bluegrass Realty and Investments, serving as the principal broker. I have been involved in numerous building and remodeling projects and two property developments. I am comfortable dealing with old homes, new construction and everything in between. Between appraisals and sales, I have been involved in thousands of real estate transactions in Franklin County. I know enough to know that you don’t shoot from the hip when someone asks you what their house is worth and if I don’t know something I say so AND I know who the expert is in that field that does know the answer.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my wife and three daughters. Being present with them is my most important job and something that I practice whenever possible. Giving back to the community is something that I was taught as a child from my father who was an old-school Frankfort attorney. He was on numerous boards in town and I grew up knowing I would do the same. The growth and improvement of Frankfort and Franklin County benefits all of us and I am grateful that I am able to give financially and of my time to many local causes.

I’m an advisor. Being honest and shooting straight is how I approach my life and my roles as an appraiser and principal broker. These characteristics have helped me get where I am today and why people value my opinion and services.

I treat and represent others the way I want to be treated and represented. My job is to minimize my clients’ stress through careful research, document preparation, transaction management and, above all, communication. Stress generally comes from timelines and surprises. I try to stay out in front of the deal and prepare for the speed bumps.
